Chronology of cameras Ricoh
The Hi-color 35S was probably considered to be the top of the line by virtue of its level of automation and the provision of a self timer. The shutter speeds can be selected in "auto", and the apertures can be selected for flash by disengaging "auto". It is possible therefore to operate the camera manually, but there are no shutter speeds below 1/30 s, and there is no 'B' setting. The 35 mm wide angle lens as standard was years ahead of its time.
